What is a bare-metal server?

A bare-metal server is a physical, dedicated server exclusively assigned to a single customer. Unlike virtualized environments, you do not share any resources — all CPU, RAM, and storage performance is exclusively available to you.

What is the difference between bare metal and cloud?

With a bare-metal server, you use dedicated physical hardware without a virtualization layer. This means maximum performance and full control. Cloud servers, on the other hand, are virtualized, more flexibly scalable, and are particularly suited for fluctuating workloads. Both worlds can be seamlessly combined via our Direct Connect.

What hardware is used?

We exclusively use Dell PowerEdge enterprise servers of the latest generation with Intel Xeon™ and AMD EPYC™ processors. As a Dell partner, we have access to the complete PowerEdge portfolio and provide individual consulting for the optimal configuration for your workload.

How quickly is a server provisioned?

Standard configurations are typically provisioned within a few business days. For custom configurations, the delivery time depends on the availability of the desired components — contact us for an accurate estimate.

Can I configure the server myself?

Yes, every server model is individually configurable. You choose the processor, RAM, storage type and capacity, network connectivity (25G / 100G), and additional options. Our solution consulting supports you in finding the optimal setup — at no extra charge.

What is included in the base price?

The base price includes dedicated server hardware, power supply, network connectivity, iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management, IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, and operation in our ISO 27001 certified data center with 100% green energy.

Do you offer Remote Hands and physical access?

Yes, our Remote Hands service is available around the clock. Upon request, our on-site technicians perform hardware work on your server. Personal access to the data center is also possible by prior arrangement.

What SLA and availability guarantees are available?

Our bare-metal servers operate with a base availability guarantee of 99.5% (up to 99.99% with Platinum SLA). For the highest requirements, we offer HA server clusters with 99.999% availability and automatic failover. Through our five SLA tiers Basic, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum, you can individually customize response times and support levels.
