More Services

Zero Trust Security

Security is built into the hardware. A silicon-based "Root of Trust", encrypted firmware, and AMD Secure Memory Encryption (SME) protect your data against physical and digital attacks.

PCIe Gen5 & DDR5

With PCIe Gen5 you get double the bandwidth compared to the previous generation. DDR5 at 4800 MT/s eliminates bottlenecks for modern applications and data-intensive workloads.

iDRAC9 & OpenManage

With the integrated iDRAC9 and OpenManage Enterprise console, you maintain full control — including KVM-over-IP, automation, firmware updates, and centralized management.

Network & Connectivity

IPv4 and native IPv6, IP addresses per RIPE. Network cards up to 100G (Intel, Broadcom, NVIDIA ConnectX-6). Up to 99.99% availability guaranteed with Platinum SLA.

INGATE Premium Support

Support via email and phone, free 24/7 emergency hotline, personal point of contact, and highly qualified on-site personnel. Hardware replacement also outside business hours.

Managed Option

Every rootserver can optionally be operated as a managed server — with regular system and security updates, server monitoring, and standard software installation.

Technical Highlights

State-of-the-art infrastructure in our data centers for your business-critical applications.

Redundant Power Supply

Dual-path A/B power supply down to the rack. Dedicated transformers, UPS, and backup generators.

High-Efficiency Cooling

PUE < 1.20 through free cooling and cold aisle containment. Optimized for high-density up to 20 kW per rack.

Fire Protection

VESDA early detection and damage-free gas extinguishing system.

High-Speed Backbone

Redundant high-performance backbone with multiple 100Gbit/s links. Direct peering at DE-CIX and MuCon-X for lowest latencies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most important questions about rootservers.

What do the AMD EPYC™ processor designations mean?
The AMD EPYC 9004 series uses a clear naming scheme: The first digit (9) stands for the product line, the second digit for the generation (0 = Genoa/4th Gen). The last digits indicate the relative performance class. An "F" suffix (e.g., EPYC 9474F) denotes models with particularly high clock speeds — ideal for workloads requiring single-thread performance. An "X" suffix (e.g., EPYC 9384X) stands for 3D V-Cache technology with up to 768 MB L3 cache — optimized for cache-intensive applications such as databases and HPC. A "P" suffix (e.g., EPYC 9654P) denotes single-socket-optimized models.
Which CPUs are available?
All Dell PowerEdge models are configurable with AMD EPYC 9004 processors — from 16 cores (EPYC 9124, 3.0 GHz) to 128 cores (EPYC 9754, 2.25 GHz). The 4th generation offers up to 50% more cores per single-socket platform than the previous generation. For maximum single-thread performance, F variants with up to 4.1 GHz are available; for cache-intensive workloads, X variants with up to 768 MB L3 cache (3D V-Cache).
What are the differences between R6615 and R7615?
The Dell PowerEdge R6615 is a compact 1U server, ideal for dense virtualization, HCI, and NFV — it delivers maximum performance in minimal space with up to 10× 2.5" drives and 2× GPUs. The R7615 in 2U format offers significantly more expandability: up to 24× 2.5" or 12× 3.5" drives, up to 6× GPUs (300 W), and 8 PCIe slots (Gen5/Gen4). It is particularly suited for software-defined storage, data analytics, and GPU-intensive workloads.
How is hardware security ensured?
Dell PowerEdge servers of the latest generation rely on a zero-trust security model. A silicon-based "Root of Trust" ensures that only authenticated firmware is loaded. Together with AMD Secure Memory Encryption (SME) and encrypted firmware, your data is protected against both physical and digital attacks.
What is PCIe Gen5 and what advantages does it offer?
PCIe Gen5 offers double the bandwidth compared to the previous generation PCIe Gen4 — meaning up to 128 GT/s total. This eliminates bottlenecks for modern NVMe SSDs, high-speed network cards (25G/100G), and GPU workloads. All our Dell PowerEdge rootservers support PCIe Gen5.
How is the server managed remotely?
All Dell PowerEdge servers feature iDRAC9 — a dedicated LightsOut management interface for full remote management (KVM-over-IP). In combination with the OpenManage Enterprise console, this enables centralized management, automation, firmware updates, and proactive monitoring — all without physical access to the server.
What features does the web interface offer?
In the web interface, you can view your account details, manage booked services, and access assigned IP addresses and traffic statistics. You can manage reverse DNS entries and control the server (power on/off, restart, reinstall).
Which operating systems are supported?
All major distributions are available: Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, openSUSE, Gentoo, FreeBSD, VMware ESXi, and Windows Server. We can also pre-install any operating system of your choice at no extra cost.
Is a different hardware configuration possible?
Yes, we can configure any Dell system to your specifications. Our hardware consulting is included.
Are hardware upgrades possible?
Yes, upgrades are always possible with us, even during the contract term.
