Data Center Munich
Private Suite in the EMC Home of Data data center Munich — ISO 27001 and ISO 50001 certified.
Colocation Munich — EMC Home of Data
INGATE operates its own Private Suite in the EMC Home of Data data center in Munich. The data center is located at Elisabeth-Selbert-Str. 7, 80939 Munich, in a quiet commercial area with no earthquake or flood risk. The total area is up to 7,000 m² with over 3,500 racks and a capacity for more than 150,000 servers. The building is constructed in solid reinforced concrete, largely windowless, and certified to DIN EN 50600 Availability Class VK3 and Security Class SK4.
Connectivity
The EMC Home of Data data center features excellent fiber optic connectivity via multiple structurally separated routes. A large number of carriers are directly present in the building, making site interconnections very easy to implement. Our own Autonomous System (AS49435) is connected in Munich with multiple redundant 100 Gbps bandwidth links. If needed, the available bandwidth can be expanded at any time with additional 100 Gbps links. The routing equipment consists exclusively of latest-generation Juniper hardware.
Power Supply
Power is supplied via two separate exclusive 10 kV lines with dedicated transformer stations. Distribution is handled through a dual-path cascaded distribution system. Multiple UPS systems in N+1 or 2N+1 redundancy ensure uninterruptible power supply. Additionally, diesel generators with a total capacity of 2,500 kW are available for emergency power. A dedicated photovoltaic system supplements the power supply. All locations are powered by 100% TUV-certified green energy from regional hydropower in Bavaria and Austria.
Cooling
The data center features a redundant cooling network with roof-mounted units at approximately 30 meters height. The cooling system includes adiabatic and emergency cooling systems with UPS buffering. The raised floor with 100 cm height and a surface load capacity of 1,000–2,000 kg/m² enables optimal cool air supply using the hot/cold aisle principle. The entire facility meets the requirements of DIN EN 50600 and achieves a PUE value below 1.20.
Fire Protection
The data center has more than 10 completely separated fire protection and suppression zones. Highly sensitive VESDA early fire detection systems continuously monitor the air using laser detectors and provide early warning during the incipient phase of a potential fire. The entire fire protection system meets the requirements of DIN EN 50600 and VdS. Daily inspections and quarterly maintenance ensure flawless operation. A direct connection to the fire department is in place.
Security
The data center meets Security Class SK4 according to DIN EN 50600 — the highest level. Biometric access control systems with comprehensive logging secure all entry points. Perimeter protection includes video-monitored fencing in a traffic-calmed area. The building is staffed with security personnel around the clock. Optionally, centrally managed electronic locking systems for individual racks are available. The entire facility is monitored via a CCTV system and a redundant monitoring system in the Network Operations Center.
Certified Data Centers
Our primary data center EMC Home of Data in Munich holds the following certifications. All additional data centers are at least ISO 27001 certified and powered by 100% renewable energy. Select locations additionally hold SOC 1, SOC 2, and PCI-DSS certifications.
