We are pleased to announce that Let's Encrypt SSL certificates are now available for all INGATE Managed Servers. This allows you to secure your websites and applications with HTTPS free of charge.
What Is Let's Encrypt?
Let's Encrypt is a free, automated, and open Certificate Authority operated by the Internet Security Research Group (ISRG). Its goal is to make encrypted connections the standard on the internet.
Benefits for INGATE Customers
- Free: No more annual certificate fees
- Automatic renewal: Certificates are automatically renewed before expiration
- Easy setup: Activation through the server management panel with just a few clicks
- Trusted: Let's Encrypt certificates are accepted by all major browsers
Setup
For Managed Server customers with Plesk or LiveConfig, setup is very straightforward:
- Log in to your server management panel
- Navigate to the SSL settings of your domain
- Select "Let's Encrypt" as the certificate source
- Confirm the activation
The certificate is automatically issued and installed. Renewal takes place automatically every 90 days.
Wildcard Certificates
Please note that Let's Encrypt does not currently support wildcard certificates. For wildcard requirements, we continue to recommend commercial SSL certificates, which we are happy to procure for you.
