We are pleased to announce that INGATE has been officially certified as a green hosting provider by the Green Web Foundation. Our listing is now visible in the Green Web Directory.
What Does the Green Web Certification Mean?
The Green Web Foundation is a Dutch non-profit organization that maintains a global directory of hosting providers whose infrastructure is verifiably powered by renewable energy. The directory is used by browsers, analytics tools, and sustainability reports to classify websites as "green" or "grey".
For certification, we had to provide evidence that our entire data center infrastructure is powered by electricity from renewable sources. INGATE operates from the EMC Home of Data data center in Munich, which exclusively uses TÜV-certified green electricity from Bavarian and Austrian hydropower.
Your Website Is Automatically "Green"
The special thing about the Green Web Certification: It applies automatically to all customers. The Green Web Foundation checks based on the IP address whether a website is hosted by a certified provider. Since we have registered our complete IP address ranges (AS49435), every website on INGATE infrastructure benefits automatically — without you having to do anything.
This applies to all our products:
- Bare Metal & Dedicated Servers — Dell PowerEdge enterprise servers
- Cloud Compute — Scalable cloud servers with dedicated cores
- GPU Servers — AI and ML workloads on NVIDIA hardware
- Colocation — Server housing and rack rental
- Managed Services — Fully managed infrastructure
Whether you run a single cloud server or an entire rack with us: your services run on green infrastructure.
Check the Status of Your Website
You can check the Green Web status of any website at www.thegreenwebfoundation.org/green-web-check. Simply enter your domain — if it resolves to INGATE IPs, the result will show "hosted green".
Display the Green Web Badge on Your Website
As a customer, you can use the Green Web Badge on your own website to show visitors that your website is hosted green. The Green Web Foundation provides a simple badge image:
<a href="https://www.thegreenwebfoundation.org/green-web-check/?url=your-domain.com">
<img src="https://app.greenweb.org/api/v3/greencheckimage/your-domain.com"
alt="This website is hosted green" />
</a>
Replace your-domain.com with your own domain. The badge is generated automatically and shows the current status.
Why Sustainability in Data Centers Matters
Data centers consume approximately 1-2% of global electricity — and the trend is rising due to AI workloads and increasing digitalization. Choosing a green hosting provider is one of the simplest measures to reduce the carbon footprint of your digital infrastructure.
Our data center partner EMC Home of Data relies on multiple pillars:
- 100% green electricity from TÜV-certified hydropower (Bavaria and Austria)
- On-site photovoltaic system on the data center roof
- Highly efficient cooling with direct outside air cooling (free cooling)
- DIN EN 50600 certified — the European standard for sustainable data centers
