Data Processing Under the EU GDPR

9 May 2018 | INGATE Team

On May 25, 2018, the European General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) takes effect. As your infrastructure partner, we would like to inform you about the necessary adjustments in the area of data processing.

What Is Changing?

The previous data processing agreements under the old German Federal Data Protection Act are being replaced by Data Processing Agreements (DPA) pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. The new agreements contain expanded requirements for:

  • Technical and organizational measures (TOMs)
  • Documentation obligations
  • Notification obligations in case of data breaches
  • Rights of data subjects
  • Use of sub-processors

INGATE as a Data Processor

If INGATE processes personal data on your behalf — for example through hosting your servers or operating your cloud infrastructure — we will provide you with an updated DPA.

Your Next Steps

We will send the new DPA to all existing customers by email. Please review and sign it by May 25, 2018. For questions, our team is available at info@ingate.de.

The security and protection of your data is our highest priority — as an owner-managed German company, we are subject exclusively to European law.
